Food Access Leader

Help us fight hunger and fuel futures in our community!

Join the La Crosse Area Family YMCA Food Access team and help make nutritious food more accessible to children and families throughout our community. Our Food Program works to improve food access through meal programs community outreach and resources that help individuals and families thrive.

As a Food Access Leader youll work alongside our Food Access team to prepare organize and distribute meals while creating a welcoming safe and supportive experience for everyone we serve.

Responsibilities include:

• Prepare organize sort count and distribute meals and food items.
  
• Help set up and clean up meal service locations.
  
• Track meals served and maintain accurate food and inventory records.
  
• Monitor food safety proper storage and temperature requirements.
  
• Transport food and supplies to meal sites as needed.
  
• Work collaboratively with the Food Access team to plan menus and keep programs running smoothly.
  
• Welcome and engage youth and families with respect kindness and compassion.
  
• Help maintain a clean organized and safe environment.
  

Were looking for someone who is dependable organized and excited to make a difference in the community.

• Food service or YMCA School Age experience preferred.
  
• Basic knowledge of food safety practices.
  
• ServSafe certification or training is a plus.
  
• Valid drivers license.
  
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
  
• Commitment to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all.
