Job Type: Full-Time Direct Hire

We are looking for an experienced Fire Alarm Technician to install service troubleshoot program test and maintain commercial fire alarm systems in the Des Moines area.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with fire alarm panels devices wiring programming inspections testing and troubleshooting. Strong knowledge of fire alarm codes and the ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams are required.

Valid Iowa Fire Alarm License is required.

• Install program test and service commercial fire alarm systems.
• Troubleshoot fire alarm panels devices wiring and communication issues.
• Perform system inspections testing startup and commissioning.
• Install and terminate fire alarm devices including smoke detectors heat detectors pull stations modules notification appliances and other field devices.
• Read and interpret fire alarm drawings blueprints riser diagrams and wiring diagrams.
• Perform point-to-point testing and identify system deficiencies.
• Diagnose and repair fire alarm system faults and troubles.
• Perform preventive maintenance and service calls.
• Complete inspection reports service documentation and deficiency reports.
• Work with customers contractors and project teams to resolve fire alarm issues.
• Follow applicable NFPA local state and manufacturer requirements.
• Maintain a safe and professional work environment.

• Valid Iowa Fire Alarm License Required
• 3 years of hands-on fire alarm experience preferred.
• Experience with fire alarm installation service testing and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of commercial fire alarm systems and components.
• Ability to read blueprints schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Strong electrical and low-voltage troubleshooting skills.
• NICET certification is preferred.
• Valid drivers license.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently in the field.
