Fire Alarm & Security Service Technician

Do you enjoy figuring out how equipment works solving technical problems and helping customers Cunningham Security is hiring a technician in Wakefield to inspect test and maintain fire alarm and security systems.

In this role youll work independently at customer locations while staying connected with a supportive service team. Your attention to detail will help identify equipment concerns keep maintenance on track and give customers clear information about their systems.

• Perform scheduled inspections and functional testing of fire alarm and security equipment.

• Check alarm panels smoke detectors motion sensors and associated devices.

• Complete preventive maintenance including battery replacements.

• Investigate minor operating issues and flag concerns requiring additional attention.

• Record inspection results and service activity using Sedona and BuildingReports.

• Keep digital reports complete accurate and organized.

• Communicate professionally with customers during service visits.

• Work with internal service and support teams to coordinate next steps.

• Follow established inspection procedures carefully and consistently.

Previous work in fire alarms security systems low-voltage technology or electrical service is preferred. We also welcome mechanically inclined candidates who are interested in learning the industry.

Preferred qualifications include:

• High school diploma or GED.

• NICET or IPSI certification or willingness to obtain industry credentials.

• Practical troubleshooting skills and strong attention to detail.

• Ability to manage field assignments independently.

• Clear communication and dependable customer service.

• Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.

• Ability to pass a background check.

• Pay starting at $30/hour based on your experience.
