Job Summary
A client a North American leader in Construction Site Services Product Distribution and Equipment Rental is seeking an experienced Equipment Field Service Technician to regionally support its rental fleet through equipment diagnostics repairs maintenance and field service operations. This position is based out of the Harrison Ohio facility.
Position Summary
The Equipment Field Service Technician is a key member of the field service team responsible for inspecting troubleshooting repairing and maintaining a wide range of rental and customer-owned equipment both in the shop and in the field. Equipment serviced may include aerial lifts forklifts compressors generators welding machines and other industrial construction equipment.
Travel is primarily local and regional within an approximate 200-mile radius. Occasional overnight travel may be required based on business and project demands.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform major and non-routine repairs and maintenance on company-owned and customer equipment in both shop and field environments.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical hydraulic pneumatic and electrical equipment issues.
- Complete service documentation including work orders parts requests billing details and warranty information.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting assistance and support to other technicians when needed.
- Communicate professionally with customers regarding service needs repair updates and equipment status.
- Maintain a clean organized and safe work area and service vehicle.
- Follow all company policies procedures and operational standards.
- Adhere to all Health Safety and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
- Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Plan organize and execute assignments independently with minimal supervision.
- Assist in training and mentoring other equipment technicians as requested.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Strong mechanical aptitude with advanced troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read understand and interpret equipment manuals schematics and blueprints.
- Combination of education and related equipment repair experience totaling at least five (5) years.
- Hands-on experience with hydraulics pneumatics and electrical systems.
- Experience repairing and servicing:
- Aerial lifts
- Forklifts
- Compressors
- Welding machines
- General industrial and construction equipment
- Strong customer service and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with management coworkers clients and vendors.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Valid drivers license with a clean driving record required.
- Ability to successfully pass driver qualification requirements including MVR review driver physical and road test.
- Must provide own basic hand tools; specialty and larger tools are provided by the company.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift climb bend stoop and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to work overtime weekends and occasional overnight travel as required.
