Were seeking a Field Service Engineer with strong experience troubleshooting and supporting industrial automation equipment in the field. This role is focused on diagnosing and resolving issues involving PLC hardware and software sensors electrical systems circuitry automation equipment and VFDs. The right person will be hands-on technically sharp and comfortable working directly at customer sites to keep equipment running and minimize downtime.
Key Responsibilities
Travel to customer sites to install troubleshoot repair and support industrial automation equipment
Diagnose and resolve PLC hardware and software issues in the field
Perform PLC troubleshooting and basic programming or modification as needed to support equipment performance
Troubleshoot sensors electrical circuitry control components drives and related automation systems
Support startup commissioning testing and field optimization of automated equipment
Diagnose electrical system issues using schematics drawings and testing equipment
Troubleshoot VFDs and related motion or motor control systems
Inspect equipment performance and identify root causes of electrical controls and automation failures
Work with customers internal engineering teams and service leadership to resolve technical issues efficiently
Document service activities repairs findings and recommendations clearly and accurately
Support preventive maintenance emergency service calls and ongoing equipment support needs
Maintain strong customer communication and professionalism while working in the field
Follow safety procedures and company standards during all service and troubleshooting activities
Required Qualifications
Experience in field service or hands-on industrial equipment support
Strong experience with PLC troubleshooting and programming
Strong understanding of both PLC hardware and software
Experience troubleshooting sensors electrical systems and control circuitry
Experience working with automation equipment in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Experience troubleshooting VFDs and related electrical control components
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics wiring diagrams and technical documentation
Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
Strong communication and customer-facing skills
Ability to travel as needed for field service support
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with startup and commissioning of industrial equipment
Experience supporting electromechanical systems in addition to controls
Experience with multiple PLC platforms and industrial control systems
Strong understanding of motor controls drives and industrial automation architecture
