Compensation: $90000$155000 full benefits

About the Role

We are seeking a driven Field Engineer with experience in structural steel and large-scale civil construction projects to support complex infrastructure work across New York City.

In this role youll play a critical part in coordinating field operations supporting project execution and ensuring safety quality and schedule performance on major public works projectsincluding bridges transit systems tunnels and other large infrastructure builds.

This is a hands-on position ideal for someone who thrives in the field enjoys problem-solving and wants to grow within a top-tier construction environment.

What Youll Do

• Coordinate daily with field crews to ensure labor equipment and materials are aligned with project schedules
• Review and manage project documentation including drawings specifications and submittals
• Assist in developing work plans and project schedules
• Track quantities production and costs to support accurate reporting and forecasting
• Identify and proactively resolve potential schedule or resource conflicts
• Communicate project updates risks and solutions to project leadership
• Review and approve crew timecards and support payroll coordination
• Maintain quality control standards throughout all phases of construction
• Ensure compliance with permits inspections and regulatory requirements
• Conduct Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and support ongoing safety initiatives
• Provide field feedback to improve constructability and design
• Coordinate and oversee subcontractor work to ensure alignment with project goals

What Were Looking For

• Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering Structural Engineering Construction Management or related field
• 4 years of experience as a Field Engineer on heavy civil or infrastructure projects
• Experience working with a large general contractor preferably on high-value projects ($100M)
• Strong field presence with hands-on project coordination experience
• Experience with structural steel construction
• Familiarity with tools such as Procore (or similar) Bluebeam and HCSS
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel Word)
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced field-driven environment
• Supervisory experience is a plus
