Position Summary

SafeHouseDenver seeks a skilled and experiencedFacilitiesSpecialisttojoin theFacilities &Operations team toprovidemaintenanceatthethreeSafeHouseDenver-owned facilities coordinate facility repairs and manage projects while developingandmaintainingvendor relationships and related resources to support the organizations facilities and operations.

KeyResponsibilities:

  • Oversee maintenance and upkeep ofSafeHouseDenvers residential and administrative facilities including repairs routine maintenancecleaning oversight and light plumbing electrical carpentry painting and project management tasks.

  • Manage and coordinate repair and improvement projects from start to finish including obtaining quotes scheduling vendorsnegotiating discounted or pro-bono services supervising onsite work and ensuringtimelycompletion.

  • Conduct regular facility walkthroughs toidentifyneeds prioritize repairs with staff andmaintainequipment and appliances in compliance with health and safety standards.

  • Oversee outdoor services (landscaping snow removal) preventive maintenance schedules inspections (fire alarm suppression systems elevator etc.) maintenance deliveries and installations.

  • As part of theFacilities &Operationsteamserveas the primary point of contact for vendorsasneededmaintainprofessional relationships communicate expectations for onsite work and ensure facility safety and confidentiality.

  • Occasionallywork with volunteersonsmallscalefacilitiesprojectsin coordination withthe ProgramResourceCoordinator and other staff.

  • Maintainfacility supply inventory and manage all related documentation (contracts warranties quotes records) in SharePoint.

  • Communicate project timelines and updates to staff and residents; prepare reports for leadership; attend requiredstaffmeetings.

  • On occasion on-call maintenance service will be necessary (e.g. emergency repair heating water intrusion other health/safety-related facility issues etc.).

  • Other duties as assigned by the CEOand Director of Operations andHR.

Qualifications:

  • 4yearsexperiencein facility maintenance and repairsas well as project inhistoricandolderbuildings isdesired.

  • Solid understanding of building systems (HVAC plumbing electrical) and general carpentry.

  • Demonstratedability toworkindependentlyand have confidence in resolving facility-related issues.

  • Valid Colorado drivers licenseinsuranceandgood drivingrecord.

  • Must have consistent access to a reliable vehicle to be able to travel to and from various work sites and stores topurchasesupplies.

  • Able to lift items inside and outside of the facility (boxes tools hardware equipment etc.)

  • Takes initiative to resolve things ina timelymanner.

  • Knowledge of the cycle of domestic violence and the barriers experienced by survivors of domestic violence.

  • Ability to cultivate effective relationships.

  • Must have patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations.

  • Protects confidentialitydemonstratesappropriateboundariesandmaintainsa safe and healthy trauma-informed environment.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Must pass backgroundcheckand results that showcrimes againstotherswillbeautomaticallydisqualified.
