The Supply Chain function is essential to Tropicana Brand Groups success by enhancing operational efficiency reducing costs and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality products. By improving warehouse operations optimizing transportation routes and refining inventory management practices the team plays a critical role in streamlining processes. Collaborating with other departments to align strategies the Supply Chain team ensures that Tropicana meets customer demands while maintaining a high standard of performance and cost-effectiveness. Through their efforts they contribute to both short-term achievements and long-term growth.
Your Next Pour: The Opportunity
We are looking to add a Facilities Manager and Chief Engineer to our Supply Chain team. Responsibilities are related to the upkeep maintenance and functionality of the Tropicana Jersey City Distribution facility. This role often involves managing budgets supervising staff ensuring safety and compliance and coordinating various services. Key duties include overseeing Anhydrous Ammonia Refrigeration Plant building and equipment maintenance managing vendors contractors and ensuring a safe and efficient working environment. Additional responsibilities include:
- Develop and implement long-term capital plans for the facility and support chilled distribution facilities including space allocation renovation and equipment upgrades to adhere to IIAR Refrigeration Standards
- Develop and manage budgets for facility operations maintenance and capital projects seeking cost-effective solutions and identifying areas for improvement
- Implements capital improvements as Project Manager initiating building projects renovations and refurbishments ensuring they are completed on time and within budget
- Building Maintenance: ensure the building and its systems (Conyer systems Cranes HVAC electrical plumbing etc.) are well-maintained and functioning properly
- Preventative Maintenance: develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend the life of equipment
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures for utility and refrigeration equipment to ensure compliance with IIAR OSHA and NJDEP standards and regulations
- Emergency Response: incident commander to respond to emergencies and coordinate disaster response efforts
- Vendor Management: Manage blanket order service contracts with vendors for services including but not limited to cleaning and landscaping negotiating contracts and overseeing their performance
- Ensure the facility meets all health safety and environmental regulations conduct regular inspections and implement safety procedures and ensure compliance
- Overseeing the site Risk Management plan and the compliance with the 14 program elements of Process Safety Management
- Completes required Hazardous Assessments and file updates to environmental agencies
- Manager and supervise refrigeration and maintenance team
- Provide required training and development shift engineers ensuring all team members meet skill and knowledge requirements
- Communicate effectively with various stakeholders including employees contractors and vendors
- Coordinate the various activities within the facility ensuring smooth operation and efficient use of resources in a multifaceted role that requires a combination of technical expertise management skills and a strong focus on safety and efficiency.
The Perfect Blend: Experience
- 5 7 years practical experience with ammonia refrigeration handling with a minimum of 1-year supervisory experience
- Must be familiar with all local and state regulations relating to the ammonia facility
- Full knowledge of TCPA EPA and OSHA regulatory requirements for Anhydrous Ammonia
- Must possess a valid New Jersey Gold Seal Certification
Must be thoroughly familiar with the ammonia refrigeration process used at facility including the process equipment standard operating procedures effects of overexposure and the safety and emergency steps to counteract such exposure. and the emergency response program
Must have received training and be thoroughly familiar with the proper use of all personnel protective equipment
Must be familiar with Mechanical Inspection Bureau State regulations relating to the operation of an ammonia facility greater than 300 tons
- Must be familiar with Calarp ammonia requirements to support ammonia refrigeration compliance for our Walnut Distribution facility
Foundational Ingredients: Requirements
- College degree in engineering highly desirable. Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship now or in the future
- Must be located in Jersey City NJ surrounding area or willing to relocate for the duration of employment.
- Willingness to be onsite daily in the Tropicana office warehouse manufacturing plant in CITY
