THE ROLE...
The Facilities & Groundskeeper is responsible for the overall upkeep maintenance and functionality of Horseshoe Canyon Ranch. This role ensures that all grounds campsites roads and facilities are safe clean and well-maintained for guests and staff. The ideal candidate is hands-on dependable and comfortable working outdoors in a rugged environment with the ability to operate equipment and proactively identify and resolve maintenance needs.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Walk the property daily including campsites trails roads and common areas to assess conditions and identify maintenance needs.
- Maintain the overall appearance of the ranch including lawns landscaping campsites and outdoor gathering spaces.
- Trim bushes shrubs and trees; clear debris; and ensure grounds are clean and presentable at all times.
- Pick up and remove trash throughout the property; maintain and empty trash and recycling containers.
- Apply fertilizers herbicides and pesticides as directed.
- Assist with seasonal property needs such as weather-related cleanup and maintenance.
- Perform general maintenance and repairs on buildings restrooms cabins and shared facilities.
- Complete minor plumbing electrical carpentry and mechanical repairs as needed.
- Ensure all equipment fixtures and systems are functioning properly and address issues promptly.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks and assist with larger repair projects or contractors when needed.
- Maintain a safe and compliant work environment following all safety procedures and regulations.
- Maintain ranch roads including grading leveling drainage management and general upkeep.
- Operate and maintain equipment such as tractors mowers utility vehicles and other machinery.
- Perform routine maintenance on tools and power equipment to ensure proper functionality.
- Assist with moving materials supplies and equipment across the property.
- Ensure all public areas campsites and facilities meet cleanliness and safety standards.
- Respond to guest requests in a timely professional and helpful manner.
- Maintain a high standard of guest relations when interacting with visitors.
- Assist with event setup breakdown and general operational support as needed.
- Assist with inventory of maintenance supplies and notify leadership of needed materials.
- Support team members across departments when needed and proactively assist when tasks are completed.
- Follow all property standards policies and procedures in daily operations.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in groundskeeping facilities maintenance or a related field preferred.
- Experience operating equipment such as tractors or similar machinery strongly preferred.
- Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and manage daily tasks effectively.
- Comfortable performing physical labor outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing electrical or general maintenance is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to remain calm and adaptable in various situations.
- Good communication and multitasking skills.
- Flexible schedule including nights weekends and holidays as needed.
