Position Summary:

As the Facilities Coordinator at The Ripken Experience Pigeon Forge youll support the Facilities Manager in the upkeep and maintenance of our baseball complex. This includes managing synthetic turf playing surfaces supervising grounds and maintenance staff and ensuring that our facilities remain in top condition for all guests and staff. Youll contribute to facility maintenance staff motivation and department budget management while fostering positive relationships with external vendors and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Regularly groom turf fields and assist with repairs ensuring safe and high-quality playing surfaces.

• Perform minor repairs and routine maintenance throughout the baseball complex including fields facilities fencing dugouts bleachers and common areas.

• Complete general maintenance tasks such as tightening hardware replacing fixtures patching surfaces painting and making minor carpentry and plumbing repairs

• Operate basic hand and power tools to complete maintenance and repair projects safely and efficiently.

• Assist in recruiting grounds and maintenance staff fostering a motivated and efficient team environment.

• Support the Facilities Manager in planning the department budget including evaluating costs for staffing materials and projects.

• Foster relationships and oversee work by external contractors minimizing disruptions to operations.

• Make it a priority to ensure a clean sanitary facility by adhering to Ripken Baseball standards.

• Operate equipment such as tractors forklifts golf carts and utility vehicles safely.

• Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance weekly tasks and offseason projects.

• Build and manage relationships with HVAC landscaping and electrical vendors promptly communicating needs.

• Identify and address internal and external customer needs providing insights to improve facilities and service.

• Promote a positive environment among team members reflecting Ripken Baseball values.

Qualifications:

• Associates degree in a related field such as facilities management synthetic turf management or grounds maintenance.

• Minimum of 1 year facility maintenance within a sports complex stadium or arena.

• Understanding basic construction principles to assist with facilities maintenance and improvement projects

• Knowledge of sports turf maintenance plant and shrub care pesticides fertilizers drainage systems irrigation and treatment for plant diseases.

• Strong verbal and written communication abilities for clear interaction with team members vendors and customers.

• Ability to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment while being a self-starter.

• Strong and effective leadership qualities to motivate and support team members in professional and personal matters.

• Positive and professional customer service skills to address the needs of internal and external clients.

• Valid Drivers License for operation of facility vehicles and equipment.

• Basic understanding of general maintenance disciplines including electrical plumbing painting carpentry landscaping mechanics and general repairs.

• Ability to perform minor repairs on machinery and equipment.

Working Conditions / Special Physical Requirements:

• Frequently required to work extended hours including weekends and holidays to support tournament and event operations.

• Must have the physical ability to perform all necessary tasks related to event management.

• Regularly required to lift or move up to 50 pounds at a time.

• Frequently exposed to varying weather conditions including extreme heat cold and outdoor elements such as dust and particles.
