Job Summary

POSITION:Extended Learning Opportunities Coordinator

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. NH educator certification or proof of eligibility for NH certification
  2. Bachelors degree or higher
  3. Experience preferred but not required

REPORTS TO: High School Principal and MWVCTC Director

JOB GOAL: To provide students with the opportunity to engage in extended learning opportunities through which they can acquire skills knowledge and/or credit as a result of study outside of traditional classroom methodology including but not limited to apprenticeships community service independent study online courses internships performing groups and private instruction.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Develop and maintain best practices for the establishment and assessment of ELOs
  2. Sustain and oversee resources technology supplies for ELOs
  3. Organize approve monitor and assist in the evaluation of ELOs for students
  4. Communicate with students families school personnel and community members about opportunities for ELOs including benefits to both students and community partners
  5. Maintain ELO budget
  6. Demonstrate working knowledge of Conway School Districts policies on ELOs and volunteers and insurance requirements
  7. Meet monthly with Assistant Superintendent of Schools CT Director and Principal to review current ELOs practices procedures and policies
  8. Actively participate in state-wide dialogues involving the future development and improvement of the ELO program
  9. Provide specific professional development and coach teachers on the development refinement and implementation of competencies performance-based assessment and rubrics associated with ELOs
  10. Serve as liaison between faculty staff students parents and community members
  11. Update and maintain public relations with community via website local newspapers etc.
  12. Collaborate with school personnel to arrange for partnerships among students educators and community members
  13. Provide ELO permissions documentation and insurance documents to community partners
  14. Organize execute and host pubic ELO presentation and exhibitions
  15. Promote recruit and monitor individual and group ELOs
  16. Develop plans for ELOs in collaboration with students educators and community partners
  17. Creatively dovetail student need with community resources
  18. Assist overseeing educators to assure student follow-through as needed
  19. Coordinate transportation needs for students related to ELOs
  20. Establish and facilitate ELO evaluation team
  21. Provide assessment rubrics to the evaluation team in advance for review
  22. Collaborate with Teacher of Record and assessment team to determine grades
  23. Manage and maintain ELO records
  24. Demonstrate knowledge of the NH Department of Labor laws for minors and the necessary applications and approvals
  25. Communicate with School Counseling Office on ELO tracking and grading
  26. Report ELO statistics to I4See Coordinator Building Principal CT Director and Assistant Superintendent on a semester basis
  27. Build and maintain a database to house community partners and businesses contact and pertinent information.
  28. Responsible for teaching a FLEX class three days a week with various topics related to ELOs
  29. Teach all ELO students how to access and use various databases in the library to properly employ research techniques including but not limited to accessing information how to use that information and how to cite research correctly.
  30. Set up ELO programming specifically for 9th and 10th graders that prepares them for completing an ELO their junior and/or senior year.
  31. Establish and maintain a school-wide competency database for each department or program to include required assessments and documentation for ELOs.
  32. Perform other duties as assigned

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: In accordance with the Conway Education Association (CEA) Contract

WORK YEAR: Up to 205 Day Contract

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Conway School Boards policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel. The High School Principal and MWVCTC Director will be the evaluators.
