Experienced Journeyman Automotive Technician

McGrath Acura of Downtown Chicago is hiring an experienced Automotive Technician to join our service team.

Were looking for a skilled dependable technician who takes pride in quality workmanship and is confident diagnosing and repairing todays vehicles. If you have at least 3 years of professional automotive repair experience and want to continue developing your skills with an established dealership we want to hear from you.

Acura or Honda experience is a plus but not required.

• $20.50$47.50 per hour based on experience ASE certifications Acura/Honda training and productivity

• Diagnose test and repair mechanical and electrical vehicle issues
• Perform advanced diagnostics and repairs involving engines transmissions drivability suspension steering brakes HVAC and electrical systems
• Complete comprehensive multi-point vehicle inspections
• Identify needed repairs and clearly communicate recommendations to service advisors
• Perform repairs and maintenance according to Acura manufacturer standards dealership policies and safety procedures
• Accurately document completed work and repair orders
• Maintain high standards for workmanship efficiency and productivity
• Mentor and assist apprentice and entry-level technicians as needed
• Maintain a clean organized and safe work environment
• Collaborate with service advisors parts personnel and fellow technicians to maintain an efficient workflow
• Stay current on Acura technology factory training and ASE certifications

• Minimum 3 years of professional automotive repair experience required
• Journeyman-level automotive repair experience preferred
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to independently diagnose and complete complex automotive repairs
• Proficiency with factory diagnostic equipment scan tools and service information
• ASE certifications preferred
• Acura or Honda dealership experience is a plus
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Ability to work productively in a fast-paced service environment
• Valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
