Schedule: Monday - Friday Daytime Hours
Compensation: 32% Commission on Billed Labor (Minimum $25/Hour Guarantee)

About the Opportunity

Are you an experienced handyman who takes pride in quality work customer satisfaction and running your own projects from start to finish First Coast Home Pros is seeking an Experienced Handyman to independently manage residential repair and installation projects. This is an autonomous role perfect for skilled craftspeople who want the freedom to build their reputation set their own rates and earn based on their expertise and efficiency.

Youll have a fully-stocked company van the authority to quote projects accurately and the responsibility to deliver exceptional work. No micromanagement no bid capsjust accountability for quality and professionalism. Experienced efficient handymen can earn substantially more than traditional hourly positions.

What Youll Do

• Manage Projects End-to-End: Quote scope execute and complete repairs and installations independently

• Set Your Rates: Determine appropriate hourly labor rates for each project based on complexity required skill and materials

• Handle Estimates: Office provided phone-based estimates for straightforward jobs (ceiling fans light fixtures faucets etc.) and you provide in-home estimates ($35 customer fee) for larger or more technical projects

• Purchase Materials: Source and purchase materials for jobs which we pass along to customers at cost

• Deliver Quality Work: Execute a diverse range of repairs and installations including:

  • Ceiling fan installation and replacement

  • Deck building and restoration

  • Recaulking and regrouting (bathrooms kitchens floors)

  • General home repairs (doors trim fixtures hardware etc.)

  • Tile work and tile repair

  • Drywall repair and finishing

  • Handyman solutions for various customer requests

• Build Customer Relationships: Communicate professionally manage expectations and ensure customer satisfaction on every project

• Manage Tools & Van: Maintain your assigned company van and tool inventory; specialty tools are incorporated into project quotes as needed

What Were Looking For

Required Experience & Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of professional handyman or general contracting experience

• Proven ability to work independently manage projects solo and deliver high-quality work consistently

• Expertise in accurately quoting projects and performing all work types you take on (start to finish)

• Valid drivers license and clean driving record

• Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly and perform physically demanding work

• Clean background check and pass drug screening

• Professional communication and customer service skills

• Knowledge of materials costs and supplier relationships for purchasing

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to unexpected job site challenges

• Willingness to learn new techniques and expand your skill set

Highly Valued:

• Experience running your own handyman business or side work

• Multiple trade skills (carpentry tile plumbing basics HVAC fundamentals etc.)

• Experience with customer estimates and pricing strategy

• Track record of customer satisfaction and repeat business

• Entrepreneurial mindsetsomeone who treats projects as their own business

• Experience managing budgets and material costs on projects

We Do NOT Handle:

• Electrical work (beyond switching out basic light fixtures)

• Plumbing work (beyond simple faucet/fixture replacement)
