Job Description:
General Summary
The Event Coordinator is a vital member of the Rocket Career Center team responsible for leading efforts in data management event logistics and Handshake platform administration. This position ensures smooth operations across a wide range of functions including compiling and analyzing data for reports managing departmental budgets and maintaining accurate records for presentations and major project plans for events.
Additionally the role serves as the primary administrator for Handshakereviewing and approving employers and job postings managing events and career fairs within the platform and providing technical support to students staff and external partners.
The successful candidate will:
Support Office Administration: Serve as a primary point of contact for students faculty staff administrators and external partners; coordinate schedules and requests; manage purchasing and budget tracking; maintain records; prepare reports; and support the Centers communications and web content.
Coordinate Events and Programs: Plan and coordinate the logistics for career fairs employer events workshops presentations and other programs including registration communications facilities and technology needs purchasing financial transactions attendance tracking and post-event reporting.
Administer Handshake: Serve as a primary administrator for the Universitys Handshake career platform by reviewing and approving employers jobs events and career fairs; troubleshooting user issues; supporting students staff and employers; and developing and maintaining reports through Handshake Analytics.
This is a detail-oriented data-driven position requiring a high degree of accuracy in managing information budgets records and reports. The successful candidate will be comfortable working with data analyzing information identifying trends or discrepancies and using technology and analytical tools to produce accurate reports that support decision-making. Strong organizational problem-solving and technical skills are essential for success in this role.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree required and minimum of one (1) year related work experience or a combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Excel Word Outlook and PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Higher education experience preferred.
Experience with webforms and Microsoft forms preferred
Experience with Handshake online job platform a plus.
Experience with Canva graphic design platform a plus
Experience with Modern Campus CMS or other website editing platforms a plus
