Job Summary:

Salas OBrien is seeking an Electrical Engineer with a focus in power distribution.

Specific design related services include:

• Primary and Secondary Power Distribution Systems
• Emergency Power
• Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS)
• Facility Assessments
• Lighting Design
• Sustainable Design Technologies
• Electrical System Commissioning
• Energy Savings Audits and Life Cycle Cost Analysis
• Infrastructure Master Planning
• System Documentation
• Technology Engineering (video security data and computer room systems intercom and fire alarm)
• Power System Studies

Job duties include:

• Participate in and support design and/or coordination reviews with clients and other project team members.
• Collaborate with and support engineers and project managers from a wide array of disciplines across various projects.
• Support the review and development of project design standards and best practices.
• Work closely with vendors to support vendor-submitted data for technical reviews and production.
• Oversee assigned project efforts to ensure adherence to budget and schedule.
• Perform Power System Studies including time current coordination short circuit studies and arc flash hazard analysis.
• Ensure that the electrical design on projects conform to the requirements of the applicable codes; including National Electrical Code (NEC) NFPA and the International Building Code and International Energy Code
• Effectively utilize computer design software and have a working knowledge of 3-D Modeling/BIM software for design producing construction drawings and for construction coordination modeling.
• Travel out of town or out of the United States from time to time.

Minimum Qualifications:

• U.S. Bachelors degree in Instrumentation Engineering Electrical Engineering Physics or a related field or the foreign degree equivalent
• A working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit LEED Accredited Professional SKM Powertools are preferred but not required at the time of hire.
