Basic Job Functions:

Nucor Towers & Structures Inc a division of Nucor the nations largest recycler and largest manufacturer of steel and steel products is seeking a qualified applicant for the position of Engineering Manager at our business unit located in Rock Hill SC. Specific job responsibilities include but not limited to the following:

• Lead a team of Engineers Estimators and/or Detailers to provide quotes designs and drawings for transmission distribution substation or other utility structures; primarily tubular steel poles arms and accessories.
• This position reports to the Director of the Engineering Department.
• Interview and hire new teammates to build the team.
• Provide mentorship coaching and accountability to teammates.
• Ensure consistent application of current design policies procedures and practices.
• Manage the teams priorities and set expectations.
• Guide teammates to deliver quality work on time with consistent results.
• Be active within Division leadership team to drive continuous improvement and overall success of the business.
• Support sales team through customer interactions promoting our value proposition and cultivating deeper partnerships.
• Make decisions with other engineering department leaders to provide safe and competitive product designs.
• Travel is required to visit customers support plants exhibit at trade shows and more.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate lead and uphold safety policies practices procedures and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Engineering
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain within 6 months of start date

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior leadership experience
• 2 years of utility pole/tower structures industry experience
• 2 years steel products design or structural steel connection design experience
• Degree specifically with Structural emphasis
• Masters degree in engineering or business
• Willing to relocate for future advancement opportunities within Nucor
