Job Summary:

  • Performs routine engineering-related work requiring the application of educational study and standard techniques and procedures in the manufacturing of Lear Romec products.

  • Supervised assignments & projects have clear & specified objectives.

  • Work assignments provide students with the opportunity to gain knowledge understanding & expertise in the areas of: Manufacturing/Assembly Engineering (Methods evaluation; CNC and manual machining; Machining and assembly work instructions; Cell design; Fixture design; Cutting tools)

Essential Functions:

  • Assumes Mechanical Engineering responsibilities under the guidance of a Mechanical Engineer for projects as assigned.

  • Coordinates with the representatives of Design Engineering Supervisors Quality and Purchasing to plan and complete projects as assigned.

  • Provide support for process development tooling systems and process improvements cell design and layout

  • Prepare review and/or approve process routings sketches tool sheets NC programs and general process revisions.

  • Maintains and communicates an accurate accounting of project status

  • The work output is expected to be consistent with Lear Romecs quality and manufacturing excellence goals and objectives

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering

  • Must have a 3.0 GPA or higher

  • Microsoft Office Products Software (Word PowerPoint Access Excel Outlook)

  • CAD Drafting/3-D Solid Modeling experience a plus (Pro-E and/or AutoCAD Preferred)

  • NC Programming experience a plus

  • Geometric Tolerancing (GD&T) experience a plus

  • Language Skills: Good oral and written communication skills required to effectively present information write reports and process instructions and provide support to various functional groups within Lear Romec

  • Work Hours Expectations: 40 hour work week

  • Reasoning Ability: Assess trouble shoot and support the resolution of technical problems in a timely cost effective manner
