Qualifications

• The Engineer SR position requires 10 years of related experience and an accredited bachelors degree.

Job Summary

• Responsible for applying engineering processes design criteria and software applications to design and construct power related systrems.

Key Responsibilities

• Supports estimate preparation
• Develops design options
• Prepares construction specifications
• Provide guidance oversight and quality assurance reviews for approved contractors as they develop design solutions cost estimates and construction packages

Additional Responsibilities

• Creating a safe work environment by putting safety first
• Understand the process used for planning design operation construction and maintenance
• Understanding the functions and activities of various internal departments involved in design construction and maintenance
• Understanding design practices and work processes
• Using all software applications used in design
• Understanding industry and Southern Company design standards
• Supporting design standard and criteria development for the system
• Supporting construction and maintenance teams during day-to-day operations
• Estimating material for projects
• Transmitting construction packages and supporting specifications
