Base pay in range will be determined by applicants skills and experience. Full-time associates in role are also eligible for an annual bonus incentive. Temporary associates are not benefits eligible but may participate in the companys 401(k) program.

Responsibilities

Directs ongoing support resources and guidance to assigned regions local and district team and community Resident Engagement associates through meetings conference calls site visits and individualized coaching for effective problem-solving techniques. Supports a variety of corporate initiatives including resident program standards budget policies resources guidelines and training manuals. Executes the implementation communication and promotion of a person-centered approach to engagement based on the interests of the residents of Brookdale owned and managed communities. Supports and manages the Brookdale engagement mentor program providing professional development to assigned mentors with the assigned region.

  1. Partners with District team members and community leadership teams to determine and reach identified business goals.

  2. Ensures that all Brookdale resident engagement philosophies standards and objectives are maintained within assigned region of the division.

  3. Provides financial oversight of Resident Engagement budget in relationship to community performance.

  4. Effectively communicates with regional district and community leadership related to Resident Engagement summarizing standards compliance recommendations and development plans.

  5. Provides ongoing Resident Engagement support consultation and follow-up to community Executive Directors including community site-visits and interviewing all final candidates for resident programs positions. Documents and submits site visits to district and community leaders for appropriate follow up including action plans and next steps.

  6. Welcomes and supports new Resident Engagement associates during their transition into their new role at Brookdale. Ensures introductions to an assigned mentor for onboarding tools and ongoing education and support.

  7. Executes implementation of all innovative company initiatives pilots programs and events being rolled-out to communities within assigned region.

  8. Plans and facilitates monthly regional EngagementPlus planning calls with a detailed agenda of topics to be covered to assist in ongoing staff training support needs sharing of programming ideas and reviewing of standards policies procedures and new initiatives.

  9. Ensures ongoing coaching and mentoring to all community Resident Engagement associates in their development of four avenues of engagement (Groups resident-led clubs individual pursuits and external partners) that meets the engagement standards.

  10. Provides ongoing Resident Engagement support consultation and follow-up to community Facebook editors including training resources and following community pages for quality and compliance.

  11. Facilitates professional development in the mentor program providing training and empowering mentors to be actively involved with meetings company initiatives and planning calls. Provides oversight with interviews and site visits for all new mentor applicants.

  12. Assists with all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience
Bachelors Degree (B.A.) from four-year College or university and minimum of five years of relevant experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required. (Strongly preferred: working in a senior living environment with direct experience in resident programming including experience programming for residents in multiple levels of care and operational leadership including multi-site experience)

Certifications Licenses and Other Special Requirements
May be required to work extra hours and/or be on call during off hours.

Management/Decision Making
Applies existing guidelines and procedures to make varied decisions within a department. Uses sound judgment and experience to solve moderately complex problems based on precedent example reasonableness or a combination of these.

Knowledge and Skills
Possesses extensive knowledge of a distinct skill or function and a thorough understanding of the organization and work environment. Has working knowledge of a functional knowledge interest and demonstrated ability in program planning for older adults. Philosophical commitment to maintaining and enhancing the dignity quality of life and optimum functioning of older adults. Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal and team building skills. Computer knowledge is essential. Must possess good judgment and be enthusiastic. Must possess excellent organizational and planning skills. Ability to work with frequent interruptions and manage simultaneous priorities. Must possess a good sense of efficiency in successfully completing all work assignments be knowledgeable and supportive of the Communitys philosophy and objectives be flexible and open to change and be knowledgeable of current regulatory standards.
