Electrician

The Journeyman Electrician is a highly skilled professional responsible for undertaking electrical installations maintenance and repairs. This role is responsible for installing maintaining troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems and equipment. This role requires a deep knowledge of electrical codes wiring systems and safety practices. The Journeyman Electrician works independently or as part of a team to ensure electrical systems are installed and maintained to the highest standards of safety and efficiency.

• Install maintain troubleshoot and repair electrical distribution systems branch circuits lighting systems motors generators transformers and associated equipment.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings blueprints schematics specifications and technical manuals.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections testing and repairs on electrical equipment and systems.
• Diagnose electrical faults using appropriate test equipment including multimeters megohmmeters power quality analyzers and circuit tracers.
• Install conduit raceways cable trays wiring panels breakers switches receptacles lighting fixtures and control systems.
• Ensure all electrical work complies with National Electrical Code (NEC) OSHA regulations facility standards and local building codes.
• Support emergency service calls and respond to power outages equipment failures and electrical system malfunctions.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records inspection reports and work order documentation.
• Coordinate electrical work with facility management engineers contractors and other maintenance trades.
• Identify opportunities for improving system reliability energy efficiency and operational performance.
• Follow all lockout/tagout (LOTO) safety and environmental procedures while performing assigned duties.

Working Conditions:

• Work in commercial industrial and government facility environments.
• May be required to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

May require after-hours weekend or emergency response support

Journeyman Electrical License

3 years of experience
Extensive knowledge of electrical codes safety regulations and system operations.

• Ability to climb ladders work from lifts and scaffolding and access confined spaces.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand walk bend kneel and work for extended periods.
• Ability to distinguish wire colors and operate electrical testing equipment safely.
