Position Summary

As an Electrical Field Service Technician you will be responsible for installing maintaining troubleshooting and repairing electrical equipment and components both in the shop and in the field. The ideal candidate will have experience working with both 480V power systems and low/control voltage applications along with strong technical skills using manual and power tools to install and repair a variety of electrical systems and equipment.

This position requires a strong commitment to safety quality workmanship and customer service. Overnight travel will be required approximately 40% of the time based on workload and project demands.

Responsibilities

  • Install and commission new electrical equipment and systems including but not limited to:
    • PDP panels
    • Junction boxes
    • Terminal blocks
    • Lighting systems
    • Outlets
    • DIN rail and DIN rail terminal blocks
    • Electrical fuses
  • Install and mount field devices while terminating cables to instrumentation marshaling cabinets and junction boxes.
  • Run conduit and pull wiring for both high-voltage and low-voltage applications.
  • Connect wiring and electrical circuits ranging from low-voltage DC systems to 480V 3-phase motors actuators and related equipment while ensuring compatibility and adherence to safety requirements and PPE standards.
  • Perform troubleshooting repairs and maintenance on electrical systems and equipment in both shop and field environments.
  • Complete all required documentation including work orders parts orders billing information and warranty paperwork.
  • Communicate professionally with customers regarding repairs troubleshooting and service requirements.
  • Maintain an organized and clean work area and/or service truck.
  • Follow and support all company Health Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.
  • Meet attendance and punctuality expectations.
  • Plan organize and complete assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Follow all company policies procedures and safety standards.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an Electrical Technician Electrician or similar role within an industrial manufacturing or equipment service environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read interpret and understand equipment manuals blueprints and technical documentation.
  • Combination of education and related troubleshooting/repair experience totaling six (6) years preferred.
  • Experience using:
    • Multimeters
    • Manual tools such as pliers wire strippers and line pullers
    • Power tools including drills impacts grinders and saws
  • Basic understanding of the differences between power wiring and control wiring.
  • Knowledge of cable sizing ferrules and proper crimping techniques.
  • Experience working with control cabinets and electrical control boxes is preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand technical diagrams and schematics is preferred.
  • Forklift operating experience required.
  • Valid drivers license with a good driving record required.
  • Must be able to pass MVR requirements driver physical and road test as required for non-CDL field positions.
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the position including lifting climbing standing for extended periods and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules weekends and travel to customer sites as needed.
  • Must provide own basic hand tools; larger specialty tools will be provided.
