Job Summary

AECOM has an opening for an experienced Electrical Engineer to be based in San Diego CA.

The Electrical Engineer will join a multidisciplinary collaborative team with a range of expertise supporting the expansion of their knowledge base with the ability to travel and gain field experience.

Our Buildings Places practice includes architecture interiors building and system engineering urbanism and planning strategy economics technology solutions asset advisory and cost and program management. This team assists our clients from strategy through project realization creating positive outcomes for those who occupy and use the buildings and environments we help to create. Our practice focuses on the Commercial/Corporate Science and Technology Higher Education and Federal market sectors. Job Summary / Responsibilities

  • Provide electrical engineering support throughout all project phases from conceptual design through construction administration and post-occupancy.
  • Perform portions of broader engineering assignments under the guidance of senior engineers and project managers.
  • Gather analyze and correlate engineering data using established methods and procedures.
  • Prepare engineering calculations technical reports specifications drawings and visual presentation materials.
  • Develop electrical system designs and construction documents for power lighting grounding and low-voltage systems.
  • Support the review of shop drawings RFIs submittals and field issues during the construction administration phase.
  • Conduct site visits to collect data and evaluate existing electrical systems equipment and infrastructure.
  • Develop designs within a BIM environment using Revit and other design software.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable codes standards client requirements and project objectives.
  • Coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary project teams to support project scope quality budget and schedule requirements.
  • Prepare technical memoranda studies and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Stay current with industry trends emerging technologies and applicable electrical codes and standards.
  • Work collaboratively with project managers engineers and designers to support successful project delivery.

Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Architectural Engineering or related field plus 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree from an ABET-accredited university.
  • Working knowledge of applicable electrical codes standards and engineering practices.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or successful completion of the FE Exam.
  • Experience with Revit AutoCAD and BIM-based project delivery.
  • Experience performing power system studies using SKM ETAP or EasyPower.
  • Experience with lighting calculations using Visual AGi32 or ElumTools.
  • Familiarity with sustainable design principles and energy-efficient building systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel Word and PowerPoint.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Self-motivated with a strong desire for professional growth and mentorship.
