Job Summary:
The EHS Technician supports day-to-day Environmental Health and Safety initiatives at the Pomona Missouri facility with a strong focus on hourly employee safety compliance and engagement. The EHS Technician plays a key role in incident investigations ergonomics training facilitation and continuous improvement activities. This is a hands-on plant-floor role ideal for an experienced EHS professional who enjoys coaching problem-solving and driving practical safety improvements where the work happens.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with Industrial Hygiene sampling including air and noise monitoring.
- Assist with data review documentation and data entry.
- Develop maintain and audit Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) matrices to ensure correct PPE selection and usage for hourly roles.
- Write review and update Safe Job Procedures (SJPs) and job hazard analyses working directly with operators and technicians to reflect real work practices.
- Manage EHS training records safety equipment databases and compliance documentation to support audits and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular EHS compliance walks
- Monitor and review ergonomics working directly with shop floor employees.

Required Skills
- EHS Experience: Hands-on EHS experience preferably in manufacturing industrial or high-risk work environments.
- Training: Ability to effectively train hourly employees in safe work practices and EHS requirements.
- Documentation & Accuracy: Skilled in maintaining accurate records procedures training documentation and safety databases.
- Communication: Clear practical communicator who can connect with hourly employees supervisors and leaders on the plant floor.
- Independence: Able to work with minimal supervision prioritize tasks and follow through on actions in a fast-paced environment.
- Computer skills with Office 365 tools
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with PPE hazard assessments and site-level PPE program administration.
- Experience supporting continuous improvement or Lean / KAIZEN activities related to safety.
- Prior experience in manufacturing heavy industry or regulated environments with hourly workforces.
- Working knowledge of ergonomics
This position will typically follow a Monday - Friday schedule of 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM however the successful candidate will need to be able to be flexible and adjust as needed.
Starting pay for this position is $22.60/hour.
Relocation is not offered for this position.
Summary Pay Range:
$22.60 - $28.20Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors job level market locationjob-related knowledge skills individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
