Superior Skilled Trades is partnered with a national commercial electrical contractor specializing in technically complex sustainable and high-performance construction projects. They are seeking an experienced EHS Manager to join their team in Austin TX.

The EHS Manager will provide leadership and direction for environmental health and safety programs across projects and teams. This position will work closely with project leadership field personnel trade partners and clients to identify risks maintain regulatory compliance strengthen safety culture and continuously improve EHS performance.

Position Summary

The EHS Manager will lead and develop EHS professionals and project teams while overseeing safety programs inspections audits risk assessments training incident investigations and corrective actions.

The ideal candidate will have significant construction EHS experience strong leadership capabilities and the ability to communicate complex safety requirements to field teams project leadership subcontractors and clients. Experience supporting electrical construction data centers mission-critical facilities industrial projects advanced technology healthcare life sciences or other technically complex construction environments is highly valued.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead manage mentor and develop EHS professionals and project safety teams
  • Oversee comprehensive EHS programs policies and procedures across construction projects
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal state and local environmental health and safety regulations
  • Conduct and oversee jobsite inspections audits risk assessments and safety reviews
  • Identify potential hazards and develop effective corrective and preventive actions
  • Lead incident investigations root-cause analysis documentation and follow-up
  • Monitor EHS performance metrics and identify trends opportunities and areas for improvement
  • Develop and deliver general and targeted EHS training for employees subcontractors and trade partners
  • Communicate complex regulatory requirements and safety procedures to field and project teams
  • Partner with project leadership and workforce teams to promote safe work practices and strengthen safety culture
  • Develop and advise on emergency response plans including evacuation first aid and other emergency procedures
  • Support project teams in identifying and mitigating high-risk activities
  • Provide EHS guidance to trade partners and subcontractors
  • Coordinate with clients project teams and cross-functional groups to address complex safety and environmental challenges
  • Ensure timely resolution and documentation of audit findings observations incidents and corrective actions
  • Promote continuous improvement through EHS best practices training communication and knowledge sharing
Qualifications
  • 7 years of EHS experience within construction industrial manufacturing or a related environment
  • 12 years of experience in a management or leadership capacity
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety practices
  • Experience managing or overseeing EHS programs on active construction projects
  • Strong understanding of jobsite inspections risk assessments incident investigations and corrective actions
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to work effectively with field personnel project leadership subcontractors and clients
  • Strong leadership coaching and team-development abilities
  • Ability to analyze EHS data and identify trends and opportunities for improvement
  • Bachelors or Associates degree in Environmental Science Occupational Health Safety Management or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered

  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction
  • OSHA Course 500

  • Naloxone Administration (Narcan)
