EEG Technician (EEG Tech) Neurodiagnostics Day Shift
Location: Anchorage Alaska 99508 Schedule: Day Shift 3x12-Hour Shifts (07:00 AM 07:00 PM) Duration: 13 Weeks
Job Overview
A leading healthcare facility in Alaska is seeking an experienced EEG Technician to join its Neurodiagnostics team on a 13-week contract assignment. The ideal candidate will perform EEG and related neurodiagnostic procedures while providing exceptional patient care in both hospital and outpatient settings. This position offers a consistent day-shift schedule with shared on-call responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Perform EEG ambulatory EEG and related neurodiagnostic procedures in acute care and outpatient settings
Prepare and educate patients prior to testing to ensure comfort and cooperation
Monitor and record brain activity recognizing normal and abnormal waveforms
Maintain troubleshoot and calibrate EEG equipment according to safety standards
Accurately document procedures and patient information in the electronic medical record system
Respond appropriately to patient needs and emergencies during procedures
Participate in shared on-call rotation including occasional weekend coverage
Collaborate with neurologists nurses and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support quality patient care
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; Neurodiagnostic or EEG training preferred
Current BLS certification required
REEGT certification required
Minimum 2 years of EEG or neurodiagnostic experience preferred
Strong understanding of neurophysiology EEG instrumentation and waveform interpretation
Excellent communication and patient care skills
Ability to work independently and within a collaborative healthcare environment
Flexibility to work scheduled shifts and participate in on-call rotation
