Job Summary
The Education Action Officer reports to and receives work direction derivatives from the JEDD Project Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Joint Professional Military Education (JPME) Accreditation Oversight: Serve as an expert in the JPME accreditation process ensuring educational institutions meet statutory requirements and Joint Staff standards.
Senior Leadership Support: Provide expert-level guidance and program support to senior DoD leaders (General Officer Flag Officer and Senior Executive Service levels) draft position papers and recommend policy changes from a strategic perspective.
Staff Coordination & Workflow: Manage complex organizational workflows develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to streamline Joint Staff actions.
High-Level Facilitation: Plan lead and facilitate executive-level conferences working groups and project meetings involving diverse stakeholders across the Joint Force.
Policy Analysis: Evaluate and provide recommendations on high-level policy documents ensuring alignment with the mission and organizational relationships of the Joint Staff Combatant Commands and Services.
Technical Communication: Translate complex highly technical educational and operational information into clear actionable briefings for non-specialist senior executives
EDUCATION
Masters degree with a minimum of 4 years experience is preferred.
Bachelors degree with a minimum of 8 years experience is an acceptable alternative.
EXPERIENCE
Demonstrated success in seven (7) or more of the areas within the Experience section is also an acceptable alternative.
Expert in the JPME Accreditation process.
Prior service and joint force experience with Joint and Service Professional Military Education and staff procedures preferred.
Actual Joint Staff or similar organizational experience at the field grade or above or a civilian equivalent.
Experience with the Joint Staff Structure mission programs and organizational relationships.
Experience with joint combined staffs organization functions and procedures.
Experience in the facilitation of conferences working groups and project meetings.
Expert knowledge and experience to support programs and leaders at all levels including very senior levels such as the CJCS.
Expert level interpersonal skills to communicate complex and highly technical information to others.
Competency and access to resources necessary to evaluate and make recommendations on policy and position papers from a senior-leadership perspective.
Experience managing organizational workflows and supporting the development and implementation of SOPs
CORE SKILLS/COMPETENCIES
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Strong communication and presentation skills read write and communicate effectively in to design prepare and present clear training programs.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent computer skills be proficient in the entire suite of MS Office and have the ability to quickly learn additional with SharePoint and C2PC is desired.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Required to sit for extended periods of time and maintain focus
Daily travel in local area during workday (including use of personal vehicle)
Be able to work an unstable schedule to include holidays and weekends.
SPECIAL POSITION NOTATIONS
Qualification as an authorized company driver is required. All authorized company drivers must have a valid drivers license current automobile insurance and a driving record that is acceptable to the companys auto insurance provider.
Daily travel in local area during workday (including use of personal vehicle).
SECURITY CLEARANCE
A TS/SCI security clearance is required for this position.
