Developmental Pathwayshas an opportunity for anEarly Childhood Special Educator (ECSE)in ourEarly Intervention(EI) Departmentwho will provide skilled childhood development services with an emphasis on early cognitive communication and play skills to children in their natural setting or via telehealth who are eligible for Early Intervention services. The ECSE will be responsible for adhering to the Early Intervention guidelines and documentation requirements. Also they will collaborate with other disciplines service coordinators caregivers and medical providers to develop and implement the Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) for eligible children on their caseload.
Our ideal ECSE will possess strong organization critical thinking communication and interpersonal skills. The ECSE will actively develop collaborative relationships with individuals families peers providers and other community partners and be proactive to identify problems and seek solutions for both internal and external customers.
This is acommunity-based role averaging5-7 client visits per day 40 hours per week Monday-Thursday. The focus is on building relationships and providing developmental support. The position primarily serves the Aurora area. Youll need to hold (or be willing to obtain) an active CDE license with Special Education Endorsement.

Additional Responsibilities
- Use the Primary Service Provider Model to team with other therapeutic disciplines service coordinators and caregivers to develop and implement functional goals and strategies to enhance the childs development
- Develop and implement IFSPs to meet individualized family or child outcomes
- May be asked to support categorical assessments and initial Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) development for children who are categorically eligible for Early Intervention services
- Help families determine priorities for service
- Perform standardized or play-based assessments and complete all required documentation of the childs progress toward IFSP goals
- Perform consultative visits either alone or in consultation with other team members as appropriate
- Provide accurate and timely documentation according to standards set by the department and regulatory agencies
- Develop and maintain working case files per department policies and procedures
- Submit billing and supporting documentation timely
- Assure paperwork submitted by other service providers individuals in service and community partners is completed distributed and filed as required
- Partner with service coordinators Child Find teams and other community partners who serve young children to deliver early intervention services
- Attend and participate in IFSP and care coordination meetings; schedules and facilitates meetings as needed
- Maintain EI Provider and billing portal
- Ensure adherence to Division for Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities/DIDD rules and regulations and agency policies and procedures in the provision of services. Assists in assuring full compliance with agency policies and procedures as well as state and federal regulatory guidelines
Qualifications
Requirements
- Masters or Doctorate degree from an accredited program
- Two (2) years of experience in the relevant field
- Active CDE license with Special Education Endorsement
- Demonstrated experience with specific programmatic concepts practices and procedures
- Valid Colorado motor vehicle license and provide proof of motor vehicle insurance
- Meet our driving requirements - no suspensions and no more than two (2) tickets in the past three (3) years
- Must be able to meet physical demands including bending or twisting of the body lifting standing time and sitting time to include floor play/therapy etc.
Upon request qualifying need and approval driving requirements may be waived in lieu of reliable transportation.
Preferred
- Knowledge of rules and regulations for Early Intervention
- Prefer additional experience in an area directly related to the job assignment
- Knowledge of rules and regulations for the Division of Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities and the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment
