As a Day Program Specialist / Direct Support Professional (DSP) youll play a vital role in empowering participants to reach their fullest potential-socially physically and emotionally-while ensuring their safety dignity and independence are always prioritized.

What Youll Do
  • Provide hands-on support with daily living activities including hygiene meals and mobility
  • Implement individualized program plans and engage participants in enriching activities
  • Foster a positive respectful and inclusive environment
  • Support community outings and meaningful social experiences
  • Maintain accurate documentation using agency systems
  • Assist with safe transportation of participants using agency vehicles
  • Respond calmly and effectively to behavioral or emergency situations
What Were Looking For
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid Connecticut drivers license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to obtain CPR First Aid AED and Medication Administration certifications
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Comfort using computers and basic software
  • A compassionate patient and reliable approach to care
Physical & Work Environment

This is an active hands-on role that includes:

  • Assisting with lifting transferring personal care/hygiene and mobility support
  • Frequent standing walking bending and reaching
  • Working in environments with varying noise levels and conditions
  • Attend community outings and events with indivduals
  • driving agency vehicles
  • Following safety sanitation and infection control protocols
