About the Role
Were looking for a strategic leader to join our team as Director Software Engineering - this role you will oversee IT digital transformations of Elements current web and MS Access application technology stack. You will be accountable for building a roadmap and executing transformation of legacy applications into modern cloud-native applications. This role is expected to lead the effort and build a team within Element that will retain in-house knowledge of all new and old applications.
What Youll Do
Analyze and evaluate legacy computer systems and applications including web-based platforms Mainframe and MS Access systems to assess technical capabilities workflows data processing methods compatibility and engineering requirements for modernization in the fleet management industry.
Design and develop detailed technology transformation roadmaps including cloud-native architectures system integrations and scalable engineering solutions to improve performance security and user experience.
Recommend and specify engineered IT solutions by applying computer engineering principles to align technology with business objectives including technical feasibility studies and measurable outcome definitions.
Review and develop technical specifications system designs testing protocols and provide expert guidance on software development lifecycle best practices and process optimizations.
Direct Elements Application technology modernization initiatives ensuring alignment with business strategy by presenting technical design options pros and cons.
Define and track business outcomes for digital initiatives ensuring software engineering projects achieve measurable solution benefits and return on investment.
Communicate project status risks and benefits to executive leadership and key stakeholders.
Act as a key technology solution liaison between leadership business stakeholders IT teams and external partners to drive technology driven business transformation efforts.
Inspire lead and grow the IT Web applications team by providing technical guidance and support to professionals managing legacy and modern integrated core systems.
Establish and enforce clear engineering and technical standards for the team aligned with SDLC best practices.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelors degree required in Computer Engineering or related fields.
20 years of progressive hands-on experience in software development and application support within multi-platform java/abap/linux/mainframe/database/SAP environments.
At least 10 years of proven experience in leading large cross-functional and cross-platform technical teams.
Proven experience developing mainframe modernization strategies including rehosting re platforming and refactoring.
Proven experience in successful execution of large technology transformation programs.
Experience communicating Software Development related concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical audiences.
Relevant experience in collaborating with vendor IT teams.
Skills in assessing current systems and identifying opportunities for improvement and modernization.
Ability to develop and execute a comprehensive mainframe modernization roadmap.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Fleet management business or financial application.
Certifications on AWS / other cloud technologies.

The hiring base salary range for this position is $152300 - $209440. Actual compensation within this range will be dependent upon the individuals knowledge skills experience equity with other team members and alignment with market data. Please note that the disclosed salary range is solely for candidates hired to perform work within this geographic location. Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location.
