Director Sales Outdoor Products

The Director of Sales will lead the growth of Klein Outdoors across North Americas retail landscape building strategic customer relationships expanding distribution and creating sales strategies that bring innovative outdoor products into the hands of consumers who rely on them most. Success in this role means blending a deep understanding of the outdoor lifestyle with strong commercial leadership to drive brand growth and retail strategic growth opportunities (short near & long-term) with assigned retail customers and implement strategic plans to meet sales goals monitor updates to direct manager to allow for cascading of relevant sales information to crossfunctional impactful commitment from assigned retail customer for new products to deliver desired and implement retailsales plan using data analysis provided from internal teams and deliver a sales activity report on a regular cadence to direct retail sales revenues and profit targets as well as create metrics todetermine progress of assigned retail key relationships with key customerrepresentatives and ensure that Klein officer s have relationships with senior officers of major other duties as required within the nature and level of QualificationsBachelors degree in Business Marketing or Communications or a closely related field and a minimum of 7-10 years of related work experience in sales or marketing. MBA or other related advanced degree inaddition to extensive business experience in the tools hardware or consumer goods industry is stronglypreferred.A significant part of that work experience is expected to be in sales management or sales management leadership roles focused on Retail. Must have previously worked with big box home improvement retailers or mass market retailers and hardware wholesale distributors targeting the electrical or construction industries. Experience in selling and marketing products directly to end-consumers through online marketplaces such as Amazon is preferred. Must possess experience in evaluating customer markets trends sales competitor activity and consumer feedback to assist in developing commercial strategies and tactics to deliver success. Experience with planning executing & marketing new products and programs with customers is expected. Experience with implementing marketing activities such as public relations advertising promotions POP packaging pricing strategy brand positioning and competitive analysis is expected. Must demonstrate strong financial understanding modeling and forecasting skills. Ability to lead and direct crossfunctional teams internally and externally. Successful leadership experience with a proven track record of recruiting developing team members and retaining talent within organizations is expected. Ability to effectively communicate and present information to direct reports other team members peers senior management leadership stakeholders customers is required. Must be proficient in project management have demonstrated strong planning organizing administrative and change management capabilities and have strong communications skills both verbal and written. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel Outlook PowerPoint Word) is Demand RequirementsOccasionally required to stand walk or sit; use hands to finger handle or feel objects tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop kneel crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell.
