Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months subject to legal requirements including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies as may be required regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. Job Overview
The Director ProcurementContractingis responsible forleading the strategy governance and execution of procurement contracting activities across DePuy Synthes. This role provides enterpriselevel leadership to ensure supplier contracts enable business continuity manage risk drive value and support longterm growth. The position partners closely with Procurement Legal Finance Quality and Compliance to deliver consistent compliant and efficient contracting outcomes in a highly regulated environment. This role hassignificant influenceon supplier relationships operational performance and financial results.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic legal counsel to theProcurement function including the Global Services Suppliercontractingorganization on sourcing and contracting activities including the development risk assessment and execution of sourcing strategies and effectiveefficientand innovative contracting.
Provide legal guidance for complex supplier negotiations by partneringwiththeProcurement function andGlobal Services contractingorganizationtosupport high value transactions (up to and including multi-million-dollar agreements.)
Work closely with Procurement and Supply Chain business partnerstomeet business needs andensurethat risks have beenidentifiedand mitigated.
Collaborate with Procurementand contractingteams to improve the contracting process which may include developing and delivering legal and contracting training harmonizing andrationalizing templates building and refining playbooks identifying and adopting best practices and supporting process improvement initiatives in a continued effort to streamline contract and sourcing related processes to improve timeliness accuracy and quality
Serve as a senior advisor and escalation pointfromcontractingorganizationfor complex negotiations disputes and executivelevel contracting decisions.
Qualifications
Education
Juris Doctor with a nationally recognized law school.
Admitted to practice in at least one U.S.jurisdiction.
Experience and Skills
Typically requires10-12years ofprogressive experience in commercial contracting in a top-tier major market law firm or in-house including experiencein procurement supply chain ormanufacturing contracts.
Provenexpertisein negotiating and managing complex highvalue supplier contracts.
Strong teamworking skills including relationship management interpersonal communication (both written and spoken) and organizational skills.
Strong knowledge of contracting principles regulatory requirements and risk management in regulated industries.
Strong executive presence with the ability to lead negotiations and resolve complex escalations.
Preferred
Experience in medicaldevicemedtechorthopedicspharmaceutical or otherhighlyregulated manufacturing environments.
Experience with contract lifecycle management (CLM) systems and procurement digital tools.
Contract experience inearlystageinnovation robotics digital health software or enabling technologies.
Track recordof driving enterpriselevel process standardization or transformation initiatives.
Other
Travel: Up to 1015% domestic and/or international travel.

$150000.00 - $258750.00Additional Description for Pay Transparency:
Subject to the terms of their respective plans employees are eligible to participate in the Companys consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).This position is eligible to participate in the Companys long-term incentive program.
Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:
Vacation 120 hours per calendar year
Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado 48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington 56 hours per calendar year
Holiday pay including Floating Holidays 13 days per calendar year
