Director of Community Schools

Reports To: Superintendent or Asst Superintendent of Teaching and Learning
Employment Status: Full-Time 12-Month Administrative Position
Salary: Based on Education and Experience
Location: Hazel Park

Position Summary

The Director of Community Schools provides strategic leadership administrative oversight and coordination for the planning implementation and evaluation of community school initiatives. The Director works collaboratively with school administrators teachers students families community organizations and public agencies to promote student achievement family engagement and community well-being.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight for the development and implementation of the Community Schools program.
• Establish and maintain partnerships with families community-based organizations social service agencies and other stakeholders.
• Coordinate academic social health and family support services to address barriers to student learning.
• Develop program goals implementation plans performance measures and evaluation procedures.
• Monitor program effectiveness student outcomes attendance family engagement and community participation.
• Develop manage and monitor program budgets grants and other funding sources.
• Supervise support and evaluate assigned personnel in accordance with district policies.
• Ensure compliance with applicable federal state and local regulations grant requirements and district policies.
• Prepare reports presentations and recommendations for district leadership and other stakeholders.
• Strong leadership communication organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in education public administration social work community development or a related field; a masters degree is preferred.
• Relevant experience in educational leadership community engagement program administration or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to build partnerships and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
• Experience in program planning budget management grant administration and evaluation.
• Ability to work collaboratively with school personnel families and community partners.

Additional qualifications certifications and experience requirements shall be established by the district in accordance with applicable policies and regulations.
