Job Description:

Director Advanced Toxin Practice Clinical Educator

This commercial Director Advanced Toxin Practice Clinical Educator (ATPCE) role is for a clinician with direct experience managing patients with neurological conditions due to loss of inhibition of motor neurons with primary expertise in the integrated management of spasticity and cervical dystonia. The ATPCE will be experienced in educating doctorate-level personnel in the clinical setting and support internal upskilling of Commercial field-based personnel (e.g. Neuroscience Specialty Representatives (NSRs)) as needed. He/she is expected to build and maintain subject matter expertise in spasticity and cervical dystonia management Dysport and the competitive landscape. This role will be responsible for developing and executing educational initiatives related to the safe and effective administration of Dysport with a significant portion of time allocated to delivering Dysport education to customers. The ATPCE is a field-based position and reports to the Senior Director of Marketing. The ATPCE is an integral part of the Dysport Marketing team critical to delivering on Dysports strategic initiatives.

Main responsibilities / job expectations

  • Lead in partnership with NSRs commercial injector education programs with physicians/HCPs/offices (includes NP/PA) that educate on
    • Functional anatomy
    • Dysport reconstitution/dilution
    • Dosing
    • Guidance (with ultrasound)
    • Injection technique
  • Develop and maintain trust with KTLs/key customers and build confidence in Dysport administration through educational initiatives
  • Gather insights identify and anticipate trends and act on unmet customer needs as appropriate to brand strategy
  • Develop and/or enhance Dysport injector clinical educational curriculum including advance topics (e.g. ultrasound considerations in appropriate patient management) in synergy with the efforts of our global team
  • Identify new opportunities and customer education priorities through in-depth understanding of competitive offerings and evolving customer needs
  • Contribute to planning for long-term Resident/Fellow educational interactions
  • Work with NSRs to support educational interactions with key Resident/Fellow programs (outside of MasterClass programming)
  • Support internal Commercial field personnel onboarding and upskilling
  • Develop and monitor KPIs for responsible initiatives and communicate performance on a regular basis
  • Ensure compliant execution of all promotional educational activities

Knowledge abilities & experience

Education / Certifications:

  • MD

Experience:

  • Minimum of 15 years of related experience (e.g. clinical patient facing experience)
  • Ten or more years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry desired with experience in the field of neuroscience.

  • English

Key Technical Competencies Required

  • Mastery of medical terminology and medical literature
  • Strong neurotoxin subject matter expertise
  • Strong written oral and clinical ability to deliver brand injector training in therapeutic neurotoxins aligned to brand strategy
  • Demonstrated expertise in the ability to synthesize and communicate medical information clearly
  • Ability to align training initiatives and delivery mechanisms with commercial objectives for brand
  • Problem solving planning organization and analytical skills that demonstrate leadership and initiative
  • Ability to collaborate cross functionally to achieve brand customer training objectives
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and foster relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Work independently; ability to travel (up to 70% of the time) for customer training sessions and other business critical needs
  • Essential Functions Physical Position Requirements: Machines and/or Equipment Used
    • PC literacy required; MSOffice skills (Outlook Word Excel PowerPoint)
    • Regularly required to operate standard office equipment (personal computer photocopy machine fax machine etc.)
    • Ability to work on a computer up to 7 hours a day.
    • Regularly required to sit for long periods of time and occasionally stand and walk.
    • Regularly required to use hands to operate computer and other office equipment.
    • Close vision required for computer usage.
    • Occasionally required to stoop kneel climb and lift up to 25 pounds.

The annual base salary range for this position is $235000-$300000.

This job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentives program as well as our long-term incentives program.

The pay range displayed above is the range of base pay compensation within which Ipsen expects to pay for this role at the time of this posting. Individual compensation within this range depends on a variety of factors including but not limited to prior education and experience job-related knowledge and demonstrated skills.
