Digital Manufacturing Engineer

Role Overview

As a Digital Manufacturing Engineer you will use advanced digital tools and virtual assembly technologies to validate product designs optimize manufacturing processes and ensure ergonomic and safe assembly operations. You will collaborate across engineering tooling ergonomics and plant operations to identify risks early in the product development cycle and drive continuous improvement in manufacturability efficiency and operator safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform digital manufacturing and virtual assembly reviews using Siemens Teamcenter Visualization (Mockup Jack).

  • Conduct 3D Digital Mock-Up (DMU) analysis to support product and process development.

  • Execute virtual manufacturing assessments: clearance/interference analysis accessibility studies sequence validation ergonomic evaluations.

  • Analyze and interpret 3D CAD and JT models for manufacturability and serviceability.

  • Validate assembly processes tooling concepts fixtures and operator interactions in virtual environments.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve assembly concerns early in development.

  • Develop technical reports and presentations to communicate risks and corrective actions.

  • Support process development activities involving fixtures tightening tools lifting devices and support equipment.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in manufacturability ergonomics operator safety efficiency and cost reduction.

Requirements
  • Education: Bachelors in Mechanical Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering (or related field).

  • Experience: 5 years in digital manufacturing virtual assembly or product development (automotive aerospace heavy equipment or manufacturing).

  • Technical Skills:

    • Siemens Teamcenter Visualization Mockup & Jack

    • Digital Mock-Up (DMU) analysis

    • 3D CAD/JT model interpretation

    • Clearance interference accessibility and ergonomic studies

  • Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving communication and cross-functional collaboration.
