Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Diesel Technician to join our maintenance team. This role focuses on advanced diagnostics troubleshooting and repair of diesel-powered equipment and vehicles. The ideal candidate has strong electrical and emissions diagnostic experience and can efficiently identify and resolve complex mechanical issues while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Perform advanced diagnostics on diesel engines emissions systems and electronic controls
Troubleshoot electrical hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Diagnose and repair aftertreatment systems (DPF DEF SCR)
Utilize diagnostic software and OEM scan tools to determine root cause failures
Perform repairs on engines transmissions brakes steering suspension and drivetrains
Accurately document repairs diagnostics and parts usage
Conduct preventative maintenance inspections
Maintain compliance with safety environmental and company policies
Assist and mentor junior technicians as needed
Required Qualifications
3 years of hands-on diesel technician experience
Strong diagnostic and electrical troubleshooting skills
Experience with diesel engines (Cummins Detroit CAT PACCAR etc.)
Familiarity with OEM diagnostic software and scan tools
Ability to read wiring diagrams and service manuals
Valid drivers license (CDL preferred or willingness to obtain)
Own basic hand tools
Required Skills:
Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams service manuals and technical documentation Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience as a diesel technician Familiarity with OEM diagnostic software electronic troubleshooting systems and scan tools Must provide own basic hand tools Experience diagnosing and repairing aftertreatment systems including DPF DEF and SCR Strong diagnostic and electrical troubleshooting background Valid drivers license required; CDL preferred or willingness to obtain Experience working with diesel engine platforms such as Cummins Detroit Diesel CAT PACCAR or equivalent Experience performing repairs on engines drivetrains brakes steering suspension and related heavy-duty systems
