Job Summary
Part-Time Design Team Goodmans
At Goodmans design is about more than creating spacesits about improving how people work collaborate and thrive. As a Design Intern youll gain real-world experience supporting our Design team while building the technical and creative foundation needed to grow into a Designer or Design Librarian role.
- Assist with specifications drawings and project documentation
- Support designers with day-to-day project tasks and deliverables
- Research furniture products finishes materials and vendor offerings
- Prepare client presentations and supporting materials
- Learn and utilize design software including AutoCAD Project Matrix and CET Designer
- Apply company drawing standards and file naming conventions
- Track design time and maintain organized project documentation
- Participate in dealer and manufacturer training programs
- Pull and prepare finish samples for client meetings and presentations
- Assemble organize and label sample packages for finish selection meetings
- Maintain and organize sample libraries and ensure materials are stocked and current
- Assist with MillerKnoll sample walls and displays
- Coordinate sample orders and deliveries for clients and project teams
- Return and organize materials after project use
- Research finish options and verify product availability
- Support updates to vendor lists finish libraries and design resources
- Help introduce new materials finishes and product offerings to the team
- Currently pursuing a Bachelors degree in Interior Design Architecture Environmental Design or a related field
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Effective communication and willingness to learn
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- A collaborative mindset and positive professional attitude
- Interest in furniture finishes and the built environment
- Internship studio retail or customer service experience
- Exposure to materials libraries or design resources
- Participation in industry organizations and professional associations
- AutoCAD Basic knowledge or developing proficiency
- Microsoft Office 365 Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook
- Project Matrix / CET Designer Exposure or willingness to learn
- Revit Exposure preferred
- Design documentation and specification skills
- Product and finish knowledge (including MillerKnoll systems)
- Understanding of the design process and project workflow
- Materials management and resource organization
- Communication and collaboration skills
- Industry knowledge and technical tool proficiency
