Responsibilities
As a Data Scientist with subject matter expertise in data science you will provide technical literacy on Department of War technology areas to support the Join Acquisition Protection and Exploitation Cell (JAPEC). You will be tasked with identifying and mitigating threats to critical and emerging technologies vital to U.S. National Security. You will work directly to inform the operations of the DoW and its partners utilizing advanced data science to prevent national-state adversaries from compromising the nationals technological superiority.
As a Data Scientist with AMERICAN SYSTEMS you will have the opportunity to do the following:
Utilize analytical tools coding capabilities and data management platforms to improve information distribution and stakeholder communication ensuring agile and streamlined operational workflows.
Query and collate unclassifiedinformationsourcesidentifytrendsand provide data visualization throughdashboards
Comfortable working with AI Sub-processorAPIs
Contribute to safeguarding the nations Research & Engineering (R&E) technology analyze and mitigate security vulnerabilities across critical and emerging technology domains.
Collaborate across multiple interagency teams law enforcement and counterintelligence entities to fortify Americas unified approach to safeguarding science and next-generation technological innovations.
Draft comprehensive analytical documents toprovideactionable insight for executive risk assessment decisions for theDoWand its interagency partners.
Qualifications
Bachelorsdegree or higher in Computer Science Data Science or related STEM field
Active TS/SCI clearancerequired. Ability to be on-site for classified work and meetings in College Park MD.
U.S. Citizenship Required for the purposes of obtaining/holding a U.S. security clearance.
5 years of relevant experience in data analytics coding or related intelligence disciplines supportingDoWor Interagencyorganizations.
Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts advanced data architectures and modern analytic methodologies.
Proficient in R and Python knowledge ofsequel would be idea
Proficiencyin the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel PowerPoint SharePoint Word) and familiar with data visualization/management platforms ().
Strong oral and written communication skills; proven ability to translate complex technical/coding concepts into clear intelligence reports for non-technical stakeholders.
Strong teamorientation proactive highly organized anddetail-oriented. Capable ofoperatingeffectively in a fast-paced multi-disciplinary environment.
Employing spreadsheets for data manipulation and visualization.
Agile/DevSecOps.
Cloud Experience: Amazon Web Services (AWS) Azure Google Platform (GCP) and Microsoft 365.

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $140000.00/Yr. - USD $170000/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
