Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer / Analytics Developer with strong expertise in end-to-end ETL data engineering and business intelligence solutions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Azure Synapse Analytics Databricks Power BI SQL and PySpark to support enterprise-level analytics and reporting initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Create interactive reports KPIs and executive dashboards using Microsoft Power BI.
• Develop data ingestion frameworks to extract data from APIs enterprise applications databases flat files and legacy systems.
• Perform data cleansing transformation and integration using Spark SQL notebooks and orchestration pipelines.
• Design and implement end-to-end ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data.
• Build and manage medallion architecture (Bronze Silver Gold layers) for scalable analytics solutions.
• Develop and optimize data warehouses lakehouses and semantic models.
• Create reusable notebooks workflows and pipelines in Azure Synapse Analytics and Databricks.
• Implement data quality checks monitoring logging and error handling mechanisms.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver technical solutions.
• Optimize SQL queries Spark jobs and Power BI datasets for performance and scalability.
• Support data governance security and enterprise access control initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

• 7 years of experience as a Data Engineer and/or Analytics Developer.
• Strong experience building dashboards and semantic models in Microsoft Power BI.
• Expertise in DAX Power Query and report optimization.
• Hands-on experience with Azure Synapse Analytics and/or Databricks.
• Strong proficiency in SQL Python PySpark and ETL/ELT development.
• Experience with Synapse Pipelines Azure Data Factory (ADF) or Databricks Workflows.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing and dimensional modeling concepts.
• Experience with ADLS Gen2 Delta Lake and Parquet file formats.
• Knowledge of CI/CD DevOps practices and source control tools.
• Experience integrating and managing large-scale enterprise data systems.
• Familiarity with lakehouse architecture and Delta tables.
• Understanding of data governance and security best practices.
• Experience supporting AI/ML or advanced analytics initiatives.
• Microsoft Azure Certifications such as DP-203 and/or PL-300.
• Prior experience working in public sector or transportation data environments.
