Job Summary
Data Analyst / Engineer Fairport NY
Were hiring a data analyst to help finish implementing an automated data analysis system for a thin film coating process. Youll be stepping into active work with a clear scope solid support from a subject matter expert and a defined finish line.
What Youll Do
- Take over day-to-day technical execution of an ongoing data implementation project
- Migrate coating recipe files from legacy Excel formats into a standardized template
- Upload and validate migrated data into a SQL database
- Review and analyze historical thin film coating data and develop statistical limits
- Update measurement methods to ensure future data meets defined requirements
- Troubleshoot custom software alongside a software engineering team
- Track progress against project timelines and deliver regular status updates
What We Need From You
- 1 3 years of experience in data analysis data management or a related technical role
- Strong Excel skills - formulas templates macros and VBA
- Comfortable working with structured data and following defined processes
- Basic SQL experience or genuinely willing to learn with coaching provided
- Able to work independently and own your tasks without constant oversight
- Associates degree or higher in Data Science Engineering Mathematics or a related field
- Must be a U.S. Citizen - this is an ITAR-regulated facility
Bonus If You Have
- Experience in a manufacturing or process engineering environment
- Prior data migration or database work
- Experience taking scattered unstructured data and turning it into something clean and validated
