Job Overview
The Cable and Adapter Assembler is responsible for building testing and inspecting cable assemblies and adapters used in a variety of electrical and electronic applications. This role requires strong attention to detail manual dexterity and the ability to follow technical instructions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
A Day in the Life
Youll spend your day building and assembling cable harnesses and adapters using precision tools and following detailed work instructions. Youll test your work for quality and collaborate with your team to meet production goals. Its a hands-on role where attention to detail and pride in your work make a real impact.
What Youll Do
Assemble cable harnesses and adapters using hand tools and semi-automated equipment
Read and interpret schematics blueprints and wire diagrams
Perform wire stripping crimping soldering and connector installation
Conduct continuity and resistance testing using meters and test fixtures
Inspect finished products to ensure quality and compliance with IPC standards
Maintain accurate production records and report defects or issues
Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean organized work area
What Were Looking For
Ability to read and follow technical documentation
Strong attention to detail and quality focus
Basic computer skills (ERP experience a plus)
Experience with cable types such as coax twinax and ribbon preferred
IPC or J-STD-001 certification is a plus
Team-oriented with strong communication skills
Education & Experience
High school diploma or GED required
12 years of cable wire harness or similar assembly experience preferred
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours)
Manual dexterity to handle small parts and tools
Ability to visually distinguish wire colors and inspect assemblies
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
Ability to perform repetitive motions and reach bend or position as needed
