Position Summary:

The Crane Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling installing and testing cranes in compliance with safety and operational requirements. This position involves working with various mechanical electrical and hydraulic systems to ensure cranes are properly constructed tested and fully operational.

Essential responsibilities:

Demonstrates willingness to take direction and follow instructions.

Adheres to schedule and maintains regular attendance at worksite. Works overtime as needed.

Maintains a safe and clean work environment returns all tools after use to proper storage locations and performs routine housekeeping (i.e.: cleaning organizing). Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Identifies unsafe working conditions and notifies supervisor. Advises supervisor of any issues after daily inspections of the cranes are completed.

Assembles and installs hydraulic systems on cranes including pumps valves cylinders hoses and other hydraulic components to ensure system efficiency and performance.

Ensure proper calibration of hydraulic systems to optimize crane performance and safety.

Install wire and configure electrical systems for cranes including control boxes relays truck and crane lighting systems hydraulic valves wireless remote systems and vehicle interface wiring.

Perform electrical troubleshooting and diagnostics on crane systems to identify and resolve faults.

Troubleshoots and resolves assembly and functionality issues including mechanical hydraulic and electrical discrepancies.

Assist in the commissioning and testing of cranes after assembly to ensure operational readiness.

Works independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Reads and interprets hydraulic and electrical blueprints schematics and technical drawings to ensure proper system assembly.

Assists in the disassembly and reassembly of cranes during maintenance or repair activities as needed.

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a crane technician or in a similar role.

Strong knowledge of crane components assembly techniques as well as hydraulic electrical and mechanical systems.

Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with other team members and departments.

High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or training is a plus.

Basis welding and fabrication skills are a plus.
