The anticipated salary for this position starts at $47800 for the Coordinator role and ranges up to $57800 for the Sr. Coordinator role. The final pay will be determined based on several factors including qualifications experience education and years within the job or industry with a strong emphasis on maintaining internal equity.

What we are looking for:

The Corporate and Foundation Program Coordinator will provide key program support to the Corporate and Foundation Development team. This role will primarily focus on identifying new grant opportunities monitoring compliance with existing grants and preparing detailed confidential financial reports to demonstrate compliance.

Hybrid Work Environment:
Following the initial training period this position offers a hybrid work schedule with the flexibility to work remotely for part of the week. However the role requires multiple days per week on-site at our Lawrence KS office to ensure effective collaboration team engagement and alignment with organizational goals.


Whats a typical day look like

  • Oversees the grant reporting process ensuring the timely submission of all required annual semi-annual and quarterly reports by coordinating with internal staff and University personnel.
  • Manages a portfolio of non-major gift donors offering recurring open RFPs (annual semi-annual or quarterly) and collaborates with internal and University stakeholders to pursue these opportunities.
  • Coordinates the prospecting and ongoing monitoring of corporations and foundations for specific projects using online research tools in collaboration with the Corporate & Foundation Development (CFD) team internal staff and University personnel.
  • Prepares correspondence form letters and complex reports often involving non-standardized or sensitive information. Maintains a professional and courteous demeanor in all communications with donors University faculty and staff and external partners.
  • Responds to phone calls and inquiries related to CFD activities and initiatives
  • Works collaboratively with team members and cross-functional partners to achieve strategic goals and outcomes.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is essential for this position.
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned.

Whats required to be considered:

  • Bachelors degree or a minimum of one to three years of administrative support experience with demonstrated expertise in development support functions including word processing database management and proficiency in Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook.
  • Preferred experience in using research platforms (e.g. Instrumentl) to identify and analyze corporate and foundation funding opportunities. Experience in utilizing various database outlets (e.g. Instrumentl) to seek information as it relates to corporate & foundation research is also preferred.
  • Knowledge of fundraising principles and practices is required with a strong preference for experience within a post-secondary educational environment.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to exercise good judgment in making decisions is required.
  • Must be proficient in English grammar spelling punctuation and basic math and statistics.
  • Requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word Excel Outlook) and with databases.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize plan and set priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with KU Endowment and the University of Kansas is preferred.
  • Capacity to adapt quickly to major and minor changes in projects and outcomes.
  • Ability to work as part of a team to establish and maintain effective professional working relationships with board members university partners volunteers and KU Endowment staff.

Physical Requirements:

  • A valid drivers license.
  • Must have access to reliable transportation to travel between multiple locations for training donor meetings networking events and/or work-related activities.
  • Must be able to respond quickly and effectively to directions and safety hazards.
  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office productivity machinery such as computers keyboards and a mouse laptops phones photocopiers filing cabinets and fax machines.
  • This is largely a sedentary role; however some filing is required. This would require the ability to move files open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.
  • The ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with donors colleagues students and general public. Must be able to communicate with others effectively.
  • Physical effort/lifting: light-up to 20 pounds
