Schedule: Monday Friday 8:00 AM 5:00 PM with occasional overtime and weekend work as needed

Tekberry is seeking a motivated and technically skilled Manufacturing Systems Support Technician / Automation Support Technician I to support manufacturing operations within a highly automated production environment. This role provides first-level IT and automation support for manufacturing system computers production equipment interfaces and associated automation systems while assisting engineering teams with troubleshooting process improvements and capital projects.

Position Summary

The Manufacturing Systems Support Technician is responsible for providing frontline technical support for manufacturing systems production computers and automation-related hardware. The ideal candidate has experience troubleshooting PC hardware supporting industrial peripherals reading electrical schematics and working within manufacturing environments. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with production associates technicians engineers and management teams to ensure reliable equipment operation and minimize downtime.

Key Responsibilities

Manufacturing Systems & Technical Support

  • Provide first-level technical support for manufacturing system computers and automation equipment
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to production PCs user interfaces and manufacturing software systems
  • Assist in maintaining reliable operation of automated manufacturing equipment and control systems
  • Support production associates and technicians with equipment-related technical issues
  • Perform imaging deployment setup and configuration of new PC systems
  • Install configure and maintain manufacturing workstations and associated hardware

Hardware & Peripheral Support

  • Troubleshoot and support industrial peripherals including:
    • Touchscreen interfaces
    • Thermal label printers
    • Barcode scanners
    • RFID systems
    • Other manufacturing support devices
  • Diagnose hardware failures and coordinate repairs or replacements as needed
  • Perform point-to-point troubleshooting of production equipment interfaces and connections

Automation & Controls Support

  • Support low-voltage industrial control systems including:
    • 24V analog systems
    • Digital I/O systems
    • Thermocouples
    • Basic automation components
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Assist engineering teams with troubleshooting automated equipment and production systems
  • Support process optimization and equipment reliability initiatives

Production Support & Projects

  • Assist engineers in providing production support for 24/7 manufacturing operations
  • Work closely with production associates technicians and engineering teams to ensure equipment uptime
  • Participate in process improvement and cost reduction initiatives
  • Support manufacturing capacity expansion projects and capital equipment implementations
  • Assist with equipment upgrades installations and system improvements

Documentation & Continuous Improvement

  • Document troubleshooting activities repairs and system updates
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment configurations and support activities
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts focused on reliability efficiency and operational excellence
  • Follow all safety procedures plant standards and documentation requirements

Qualifications

Required

  • Associate Degree in:
    • Electrical Engineering Technology (EET) OR
    • Industrial Automation OR
    • Mechatronics OR related technical field
  • 1 3 years of experience supporting PC hardware manufacturing systems or industrial equipment
  • Experience troubleshooting Windows-based computer systems
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
  • Experience supporting manufacturing peripherals and production hardware
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment

Preferred

  • Experience supporting:
    • Thermal label printers
    • Barcode readers
    • RFID systems
    • Touchscreen HMI devices
  • Knowledge of low-voltage industrial control systems
  • Understanding of analog and digital signals
  • Experience with thermocouples and industrial sensors
  • General understanding of network switch operation and connectivity troubleshooting
  • Experience working in manufacturing or industrial production environments
