Position Overview
As Controller you will own the companys accounting and financial operations ensuring accurate reporting strong internal controls and timely insights to support business decisions. You will lead a small team while also remaining hands-on particularly in the near term as processes are refined and improved. This role will play a critical part in cleaning up and optimizing accounting processes reducing month-end close timelines and leading an upcoming ERP implementation.
Key Responsibilities
Own the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting in accordance with GAAP
Prepare and review monthly quarterly and annual financial statements
Manage general ledger reconciliations journal entries and month-end close (goal: reduce from 15 days to 5 days)
Oversee AP AR payroll and cash management functions
Lead budgeting forecasting and financial analysis in partnership with leadership
Provide actionable financial insights to support strategic decision-making
Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting processes
Serve as primary liaison with external partners (CPA payroll provider HR partner auditors)
Support audit and tax processes
Manage and develop a small accounting team (2 direct reports international staff support)
Oversee light HR administration in partnership with an external HR firm (Xenium)
Participate in contract review and operational decision-making
Lead or support ERP system implementation (planned for later this year)
Leverage AI tools (e.g. Microsoft Copilot) to improve reporting analysis and efficiency
Drive continuous process improvement across accounting and finance
What Were Looking For
7 years of progressive accounting experience including leadership
Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial controls
Experience managing full-cycle accounting and financial reporting
Hands-on leadership style with the ability to operate both strategically and tactically
Experience with ERP systems (implementation experience a plus)
Advanced Excel skills and strong technical aptitude
Interest in or experience using AI tools to enhance productivity and insights
Strong communication skills with the ability to partner cross-functionally

Direct Reports: 2 (Accounting/Operations Staff Accountant)
Additional support: International accounting staff
