Project: UT San Antonio Valdez Institute for Economic Development (VIED) Web Redesign & Migration

Position Overview

We are seeking a Content Strategy & Migration Lead to oversee the content audit data mapping restructuring and execution of migrating content from 10 distinct university websites into a standardized WordPress ecosystem. This role ensures that enterprise and academic content across all digital properties is systematically audited optimized structured and accurately transferred without content loss or broken user pathways.

Key Responsibilities


Content Audit & Inventory: Conduct a comprehensive content inventory across all 10 legacy VIED web properties to identify outdated duplicate redundant or obsolete content.

Data Mapping & Architecture: Develop robust data mapping models and content taxonomies to smoothly transition legacy page structures into standardized WordPress block patterns and custom post types.

Content Restructuring & Optimization: Reorganize complex academic and enterprise content to improve information architecture search engine optimization (SEO) readability and user engagement.

Multi-Site Migration Strategy: Formulate and execute a phased content migration plan (combining automated migration scripts and manual content entry/formatting) across all sub-sites.

Quality Assurance & Content Integrity: Establish QA checklists to verify URL redirects media library transfers metadata accuracy hyperlink integrity and structural consistency post-migration.

Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with UI/UX designers front-end developers and accessibility specialists to ensure migrated content complies with visual brand standards and WCAG 2.1 Level AA requirements.

Required Qualifications & Skills


Experience: 4 years of content strategy information architecture or enterprise web content migration experience preferably within higher education state agencies or complex multi-site environments.

Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with WordPress CMS content management database field mapping CMS migration tools and content auditing tools (e.g. Screaming Frog Content Analysis Tool).

Information Architecture: Deep understanding of digital taxonomy content modelling metadata standards site mapping and user-centric navigation design.

Content Remediation: Proven ability to rewrite edit and format raw web copy for digital readability accessibility and audience engagement.

Project Organization: Strong data handling spreadsheets and organizational skills necessary to track thousands of pages and assets across multi-phase deployments
