Glassboro Public Schools is seeking qualified candidates for a Full Time Computer Technician. This is a twelve-month position that reports to the Director of IT . As a computer technician you must be well-versed in computer systems and network functions. The ideal candidate will be able to work diligently independently professionally and accurately and will possess great problem-solving abilities to fix issues and ensure functionality.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Provide hardware and software support to all schools on multiple platforms including desktop PCs laptops Chromebooks Apple devices and other equipment and peripherals (phones projectors printers SMART boards etc.)
Perform regular endpoint upgrades to ensure systems remain updated
Troubleshoot system failures or bugs and provide solutions to restore functionality
Ability to physically repair PCs and Chromebooks as needed
Experience with LAN/WAN Networks
Documentation of repairs and fixes in our ticketing system
Maintain Active Directory MS Office and Google accounts for staff and students
Offer timely technical support and teach users how to utilize computers correctly
Assist and maintain device inventory
Proven experience as computer technician or similar role
Thorough knowledge of computer systems and IT components (Windows and Chrome OS)
Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
Excellent troubleshooting skills
Ability to learn and be taught necessary skills
Very good communication abilities
Ability to research and test solutions thoroughly
Comfortable speaking to technical support as needed
Exceptional organizing and time-management skills
Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more and climb a ladder
Associates in computer science engineering or relevant field
Relevant certifications (e.g. CompTIA A) will be an advantage but not a requirement
Criminal History background check required
May be required to stay 1 - 2 days a month for after school for special events and board meetings
Reliable Transportation
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
This is a twelve (12) month position with salary and contract terms to be negotiated with the Superintendent and the Board of Education.
EVALUATION:
Performance in this position will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Boards policy on evaluation of personnel.
