PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Provides training and ongoing coaching to classroom teachers to ensure effective delivery of Worth the Wait curricula while simultaneously partnering with the Director of Health Services to provide essential medical oversight. From coordinating medication administration protocols to facilitating specialized medical training for staff this position will ensure that both the educational and physical well-being of students are supported with professional excellence.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Education/Certification:
Bachelors degree required
RN preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Strong communication public relations organizational and interpersonal skills
Effective verbal and written communications skills
Work effectively and harmoniously with students parents and school personnel is essential
Basic computer knowledge and skills
Experience working with and/or Instruction secondary students Knowledge of assigned curriculum; knowledge of Instructional methods Lesson presentation skills
Work Conditions:
Tools/Equipment Used:Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals
Posture:Prolonged sitting and standing; bending/stooping pushing/pulling and twisting
Motion:Repetitive hand motions including keyboarding; reaching
Lifting:Lifting and carrying (up to than 50 pounds)
Environment:Must be able to work with frequent interruptions and maintain professional
demeanor under stress; must be able to work flexible hours including summer and evening work; must wear professional attire
Travel:Frequent district-wide travel
Regular attendance is an essential function.
Minimum Experience:
Work experience in an educational setting preferred Medical/public health background preferred
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Work collaboratively with district educators to deliver quality lessons.
Conduct initial and refresher training for Worth the Wait curriculum.
Model classroom lessons and provide feedback.
Act as the primary point of contact for parent inquiries.
Provide monthly reports to Directorof Counseling College & Career Readiness..
Be a liaison with school principals and administration.
Provide and monitor appropriate forms for parental consent to campuses for Worth the Wait presentations.
Assist with program evaluation.
Assist with district-wide medication audits and compliance.
Train non-medical staff on emergency medication (e.g. EpiPens etc.)
Support Director of Health Services in updating medical protocols.
Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect equipment materials and facilities.
Compile maintain and file all reports records and other documents required.
Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
Comply with state district and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers including the Texas Educator Code of Ethics.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None
