Reporting to theSenior Director of Public Affairs this role focuses on traditional communications functions including mediarelations content development and digital communications. The CommunicationsManagerwill play a key role in translating strategy into clear compelling public-facing materials and ensuring timely execution in a fast-moving environment.
The ideal candidate is a strong operator with excellent writing and editorial skills sound judgment and the ability to manage multiple priorities while collaborating closely with public affairs research and external partners.
Support the execution of public affairs and advocacy initiatives including content development coordination rollout and rapid-response efforts
Ensuremessage consistency accuracy and quality across all communications outputs
Oversee day-to-daydigital andsocial media execution includingcreating content for blogs and newslettersmanagingcontentcalendarsand coordinating with externalvendors
Manageearned media activities includingmedia monitoringpress outreach reporter engagement pitchingand spokesperson preparation
Coordinatewith designers videographers and other vendors to producecommunications assetsas needed
Collaboratewith the organizations research team to translate research findings polling and analysis into accessible public-facing content
Managecontent workflows timelines and approvals to ensuretimelyexecution across multiple initiatives
Maintainand organizecommunications templates assets and documentation
Assistwith reporting and tracking communications outputs and performance metrics
Alignmentwith yes. and vision for education policy
5-7 years of experience in communications public relations journalism advocacy or a related field
Exceptional writing and editing skills with strong attention to detail and editorial judgment
Experiencewith digital communications and social media strategy including experience managing or coordinating with external vendors
Experience managing earned media and working with reporters in fast-paced environments
Demonstrated ability to create visual or graphic materials for external audiences
Strong organizational and project-management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
Ability to take strategic direction and execute independently
Sound judgment discretion and professionalism in high-stakes or time-sensitive situations
Comfort working collaboratively in a remote organization

For this role the anticipated base salary range is $85000 $115000 per year. This role may also be eligible for additional bonus compensation designed to align total compensation with an employees overall contribution to the organization.

Consistent with this approach base salary may vary within or outside of the anticipated range based on these considerations.
