About the Role:

An established and growing law firm is seeking a Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney to join its dynamic litigation practice. This is an exceptional opportunity for an early-career attorney looking to gain hands-on litigation experience work closely with experienced trial lawyers and develop a sophisticated commercial litigation practice.

In this role you will be involved in all phases of litigation from case assessment and legal research through discovery motion practice depositions settlement negotiations and trial preparation. You will have meaningful client contact significant responsibility from day one and the opportunity to appear in court and participate in high-stakes business disputes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with senior attorneys in representing clients in complex commercial and business litigation matters.
• Conduct detailed legal research and develop strategic legal arguments.
• Draft pleadings motions briefs discovery requests responses and other litigation-related documents.
• Manage all aspects of discovery including document review written discovery and case preparation.
• Attend and participate in depositions hearings mediations and settlement conferences.
• Prepare and argue motions before state and federal courts.
• Assist with trial preparation and participate in trials as first-chair or second-chair counsel when appropriate.
• Communicate regularly with clients regarding case strategy developments and expectations.
• Analyze legal issues and provide practical business-oriented solutions.
• Support settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution efforts.
• Manage multiple matters simultaneously while maintaining exceptional client service and responsiveness.
• Collaborate with attorneys and legal staff to ensure efficient case management and successful outcomes.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active New Jersey Bar admission and good standing.
• 0 5 years of commercial litigation experience.
• Strong legal research writing analytical and advocacy skills.
• Experience drafting motions pleadings and litigation-related documents.
• Ability to effectively conduct legal research and develop persuasive legal arguments.
• Strong oral communication and negotiation abilities.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Detail-oriented self-motivated and highly professional.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
• Strong commitment to client service and professional excellence.
