The Commercial Analyst Team Lead provides leadership coaching and oversight to a team of Commercial Analysts supporting Commercial Leaders and Relationship Managers across designated markets. This role is responsible for developing talent ensuring high-quality work product maintaining consistent execution of processes and promoting strong risk management and client service practices. As a player-coach the Team Lead recruits onboard mentors and develops Commercial Analysts while managing a limited portfolio of client and credit-related activities to maintain technical expertise and model best practices. The Team Lead partners closely with Sales Credit Underwriting and other key stakeholders to align resources improve processes and support market growth and client service objectives.
Responsibilities
- Lead coach and develop a team of Commercial Analysts to support individual growth technical proficiency and career progression.
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with team members to provide coaching performance feedback workload guidance and development support.
- Recruit hire onboard and train Commercial Analysts to ensure successful integration and ongoing development within the organization.
- Identify high-potential talent and support succession planning through coaching mentoring and development opportunities.
- Provide direction and drive accountability for Commercial Analyst performance workflow management and client support activities.
- Serve as a point of contact for day-to-day Commercial Analyst responsibilities (e.g. process questions system issues etc.)
- Monitor team workload capacity and resource allocation to ensure appropriate coverage service levels and development opportunities.
- Review and provide feedback on Commercial Analyst work product including financial analysis prospect presentations and other deliverables to ensure quality consistency and accuracy.
- Manage a limited portfolio of commercial banking relationships and credit activities to maintain technical expertise and support market objectives.
- Partner with Commercial Leaders and Relationship Managers on in-market sales strategy and support.
- Provide guidance and support on complex credit structures and financial analysis.
- Ensure adherence to established credit underwriting risk and operational procedures.
Education Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree (preferred)
Experience Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of commercial middle market banking experience (e.g. credit structuring & analysis sales functions risk assessment knowledge of commercial banking products services & technology) (required)
- Minimum of 3 years of leadership supervisory coaching or team management experience (required)
- Strong understanding of commercial lending products credit risk assessment and underwriting principles (required)
- Strong knowledge of commercial loan and deposit documentation (required)
- Experience working with complex commercial credit structures and transactions (required)
- Experience managing competing priorities workflow and leading teams (required)
- Ability to establish and strengthen effective working relationships among team members and partners (required)
- Excellent communication collaboration and relationship management skills (required)
- Demonstrated success identifying developing and retaining top talent (preferred)
- Knowledge of nCino and related commercial banking systems (preferred)

Physical Demands

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $96000.00 - $181000.00 annually. Placement within the pay range may differ based upon various factors including but not limited to skills experience and geographic location. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for incentive compensation which may include production commission and/or discretionary incentives.Please click here for a list of benefits for which this position is eligible.
